Thoughts on the passing of the Pope

I was listening to the many commentaries and was struck by the many who mentioned the Pope as philosopher. One of the many interviewed noted that the works of John Paul II will be studied for many years to come and mentioned the encyclicals in particular. He noted the encyclical on faith and reason. I looked around Amazon and found a couple books to start reading, Memory and Identity, and an edition of the Encyclicals.

Found a pretty good book on botanical illustrations in watercolor, too. The library has a collection of desert plants in the Local History room. They would be fun to draw and watercolor. Then I'll hike about and look for the living plants. Have two trails to explore.

I dyed a silk cap last night. It turned out pretty pastel. Tried a new method, but I guess I will go back to my old way. It seemed to do better. I think I will spin this one, but try again with the same colors in Flavor-aid. Couldn't find blue Kool-aid, or lime. I wonder if they still make them. Used grape and lemonade.
