Reading Islam: A Short History by Karen Armstrong, simply because with all the talk of Shia, Sunni and Sufi, I hadn't a clue. Well, the book is short, but jam-packed with information. Getting an idea of the broad sweep of things, but a more detailed note-taking reread will be the only way to get clear in my mind.
